Evgenia TUT is an interdisciplinary artist whose work reinterprets the pairing of architecture and writing. She experiments with different techniques, mainly graphics, painting, installations, and objects.

Evgenia was born in 1982. She has a master’s degree in architecture. She graduated from the Paideia School of Modern Art Interpretation and the Rodchenko School (Transmedia Lab, curated by Kirill Savchenkov). Evgenia is a member of the Union of Architects of Russia. The artist was also a member of the art group Parazit in 2020. She participates in group exhibitions and festivals (including Ars Electronica (2021) and the NEMOSKVA project (2020)). She was a guest of the art residency Svody (V-A-C, Moscow (2022)). Evgenia TUT’s works are in private and museum collections. She lives and works in Saint Petersburg.

Her artistic method is strongly inspired by the architectural practice and the study of archaic consciousness and various forms of media transmission. Her art exists at the intersection of these systems of knowledge.

In her works, Evgenia explores the influence of technology on the way of thinking, turns to preverbal experience, and searches for spatial forms of expression. The artist’s creative method is based on a specific attitude to the structure of space, the symbol’s role, and the signification system. One of the directions of Eugenia’s work is a reflection on ruination from the perspective of creating an alternative attitude to disappearance.
